1. How can I afford to make these changes?

Do a little at a time—Make one change a month or every couple months, and they will all add up! Add gift ideas to your Christmas and birthday lists. Watch for sales around holidays. If you look at it as an all or nothing project, it will be self-defeating. Our family is still working on it, and more cost-effective options are popping up regularly.

5. If you had to go in order, what changes would you make first?

I recommend starting with the food and water you are consuming. Reduce the processed food and sugar intake. Learn to read labels ASAP. Start moving your body daily in whatever way you can, get fresh air, and work with your doctor on nutritional deficiencies (good stuff in) and detox (bad stuff out) needs.

2. Why make changes in my kitchen?

Our cookware, utensils, storage containers, and food wraps can all have potentially harmful toxins that are not seen with the human eye. Research to learn what is best for you and your family.

6. Can I do anything that doesn’t cost a lot of money?

You will learn that many things to improve your health are 100% free, such as working on emotional issues, getting sunshine, thinking positively, getting good sleep each night, and moving your body.

7. Is a healthy lifestyle all or nothing?

The simple answer is “no”. I recommend not stressing about it, and taking baby steps. Every little thing you do to improve your physical, emotional, and spiritual life will make a difference. You will see the changes add up until one day you will notice your new lifestyle in full swing without forcing it.

4. How much time will it take to switch to a more holistic lifestyle?

Every little change counts, and you can do it at your own pace depending on what you are trying to heal and what your doctor recommends. It truly is up to you—and your personal drive, circumstances, and ability to adapt.

8. What if I can’t eat healthy all the time?

We learned to follow the 80/20 rule. If you eat the best you can 80% of the time, you are doing fantastic. There will be times when it may not be possible to eat as healthy as you like (celebrations, travel, social situations, etc.). In those cases, simply do your best and don’t stress about anything.
