My daughter Morgan Keen, asked if I’d like to go check out a new “Low Tox” store in West Des Moines, and I could hardly wait! Our first impression was so fun… the outdoor window literally says “You can breathe easy here.” I was so excited—we scooted through the door and discovered what might be one of our new favorite places to shop.
Our first impression was “YEEEESSSSS” the minute we walked through the door. Low Toxy is a clean, fun, and nicely organized shop with a variety of low-tox items on tables and shelves throughout. Something for everyone—gals, guys, kids, babies, and fur babies. You can find low-tox items for your bathroom, kitchen, living areas, and even your medicine cabinet! There were many low-tox brands that we recognized and a handful that we hadn’t heard of yet. It was so much fun, and I’m already looking forward to going back. Some of our personal favorite brands that you can pick up include Humble, Jolie, JackFir, poppy & pout, MadHippie, Crunchi, Aunt Fannie’s, Plant Therapy, and Cure just to name a few. Some new brands we spotted but haven’t tried yet include MamaSuds, Happy Tooth, Under Luna, Mountaineer Brand, Dapple and Dollop, and Meliora. There are so many products to choose from and an amazing owner who tests each one before committing to selling them in her store! Ashley Asberry works hard to make sure each product is safe, clean, and non-toxic. You can be sure that anything you purchase is free from synthetic dyes, parabens, and other harmful ingredients. Ashley is happy to share her knowledge and help you find just what you need at whatever stage you are at in your low-tox journey.
