Your Mind is POWERFUL

“The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind.” – Caroline Myss

I’d like to introduce Emilé Coué (1857 – 1926), a French pharmacist and psychologist known for creating the concept of autosuggestion and the “Coué” method for healing and self-improvement. He believed people can harness the power of their own thoughts to heal and create positive chagnes in their lives. He coined the following phrase (called an autosuggestion) as a mantra for his patients to repeat to themselves multiple times throughout the day:

“Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better.”

What if you did that every day? Coué believed that patients’ health problems were likely to increase when their willpower and imagination opposed each other—he referred to this as “self-conflict.” For example, the more patients try to sleep, the more they stay awake, or the more a patient tries to stop smoking, the more he or she wants to light up a cigarette.

C. (Cyrus) Harry Brooks wrote several books about Coué, and claimed his success rate was around 93%. The remaining 7% included people who were skeptical of his approach and refused to recognize it as a credible treatment option. People from all over the world worked with him on health issues ranging from insomnia, diabetes, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, phobias, and many physical or mental illnesses.

Coué was ahead of his time, and although somewhat controversial, was quoted saying “I have never cured anyone in my life. All I do is show people how they can cure themselves.” His practices and overall theory, proven by himself and many people around the world, rock conventional medicine’s world and its negligence regarding the power of our mind to truly heal. What if you repeated his autosuggestion every day? “Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better.” What would happen to your psyche? What would happen to your body? What if you stopped focusing on the negative symptoms? What if you stopped complaining and focused on the healing power of this instead?

The fact of the matter is this—if you think you are going to “have to live with it,” suffer, or die according to the diagnosis you were given, most likely you are. If you believe the white coat word curse of disease and/or death, then you will surely get what you believe in because your mind programs your body. If you think it isn’t possible to get better, most likely you will not get better.

Healing doesn’t have to look magical and sometimes it isn’t a pretty process. True healing can be hard work. However, if you think you are already healed, and you pour precious mental energy into this thought process and the emotions and actions that go with it, there is a good fighting chance you can heal yourself.

“Did you really have a bad day, or did you have 10-20 minutes where you let your thoughts run undisciplined which led you to a bad vibe that you let carry you away. Come on. You run this sh!t. Pay attention.” – Unknown
